Make a mokume gane bracelet! Mokume gane is a Japanese word that means wood-grain metal and in this class you’ll learn one of the most versatile and direct ways of patterning mokume gane while creating your own elegant mokume bracelet. Starting with 6mm square solid mokume-gane rod, you'll twist, forge and file your way to a unique bracelet. This way of patterning is directly applicable to making mokume gane rings. Copper/brass mokume is included, silver/copper and/or silver/copper/brass mokume will be available for purchase in class (silver/copper/brass shown at right). Repeat students can begin more complex projects that start with a twist. Depending on the student’s skill level, final fabrication and finishing may be needed after the class to complete the project. All levels welcome.

Depending on the student’s skill level, final fabrication and finishing may be needed after the class to complete the project. We offer ongoing independent study opportunities for this purpose.

Your safety is of utmost importance to us: everyone is required to wear closed toed shoes while in the Lab, loose hair must be pulled back and safety glasses and earmuffs are available and required.
