Twist patterning is the basis for most mokume gane rings being made today, but it is also versatile and can be used for bracelets, pendants and more. Today we'll start by twisting some copper/brass rod and exploring the patterning possibilities. You can choose to saw the rod in half to reveal the mysterious star pattern inside, or forge and file to create unique patterns. After lunch you'll choose whether to start a new twist piece in silver/copper or to refine and complete your copper/brass piece into a pendant or bracelet. Copper/brass mokume is included in class fee, silver/copper and/or silver/copper/brass mokume will be available for purchase in class. Repeat students can focus on more advanced patterns/projects that start with a twist. All levels welcome.
